Jennika is girl through and through. She loves playing with shoes, anybodies but especially mine. There have been several times in the last week when I’ve heard her go upstairs and into our bedroom. I’ve followed a few minutes later to make sure she’s not playing in the toilet. Upstairs to our room I’ll creep and slowly open the bathroom door, I’ll have a look around, think she’s not in there and then go check her room and the other bedroom. Then come to our bathroom for a better looks. Both times she’s been in my closet, behind the door, with shoes on her feet and another pair in her hands….looking completely satisfied. I think we better start a shoe fund now! 🙂
The other thing she LOVES to do is play with my purse and wallet. Now I know where she gets this passion, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree on this one. I too love purses and usually change them out about once a week. So I usually have several of my favorites and most used sitting downstairs in a spare chair for easy access. Jennika knows about this treasure trove and loves to stand on a little stool and go through them, examining anything that I’ve left in them. I, up to this point, haven’t minded her doing that because it keeps her entertained and there’s not really anything she can harm in my purse.
This morning she was playing in my purse while I was reading a magazine in the other room. Now reading time around here seems so scarce that I was relishing the many wonderful moments of absolute silence. Then I realized…absolute silence…not a good sign. So I rushed into the dining room to check on Jennika. She grinned at me and I could tell that her mouth was quite full of something. Coming closer I noticed an empty gum package in her hand. Trying to remember how many pieces of gum were in it last time I checked, I also scanned the floor for gum wrappers. None to be seen. Jennika was happily chewing and saying “mmmmm!” to me as I sat her in my lap and pried three well chewed, still wrapped pieces of gum from her mouth! Kris and I were laughing so hard it was difficult to scold her and she was quite unhappy that I took her nummy treat away. In then end of was able to unwrap one little bit of gum and give it back to her. Of course she chewed and swallowed it right away, but it won’t hurt her. I guess I’ll have to be more careful about what I leave in my purse now!
LOL! Wrapped and all! Numsquish Mom! You’re cute!
I love this! You are such a good mom. Jillian was my gum thief. She would get in to my purse and get my gum then shut her eyes when I came in the room, like I couldnt see her with her eyes closed.
Tyler just did that the other day too! He calls the gum “Mama’s dums”. So cute!! I love the personalities that they are developing! And, Jennika is SOOO cute!
so funny! Macey is my gum-maniac! She used to wake up in the middle of the night crying and asking for gum….a little obsessed – ya think???!!!
That’s so funny–this morning Dutch discovered a bottle of Tums…you can fill in the rest of the story. Apparently the minty flavor was a hit. 🙂
